Kurena Ishikawa (石川 紅奈) is a Bassist, Vocalist, Composer from Saitama who studied jazz at the Kunitachi College of Music Japan. and
started her professional career while in the school. In March 2023, Kurena made her major debut on her first album “Kurena” released by the prestigious jazz label Verve Records/Universal Music Japan. Kurena is also a member of pop music unit called “soraya”, and their first album“soraya” was released at march 2024.
Taka Nawashiro is a Tokyo based Guitarist and Composer. Nawashiro studied at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, where Nawashiro received the John Coltrane Award upon graduation. Nawashiro is one of the official Artists for Spanish Guitar company “Soulezza Guitars”. In December 2020, Nawashiro released his first album ‘What We Do Now’, recorded in New York with Ben Allison, E.J. Strickland, Milena Casado Fauquet and Judette Elliston. Since returning to Japan, in addition to his own project, Nawashiro has participated in various collaborations including with Shun Ishiwaka and Kurena Ishikawa. He released his second album, Lifescape in September 2024. Nawashiro has a unique guitar sound influenced by many guitarists, not only jazz, but also rock and fusion. He also writes lyrics as well as composing, so even his instrumental songs are very lyrical.
