About the artists
Deep Mind, consisting of five young musicians with the freshest and most unique sound in Korea, is a team formed to work on the album [Deep Mind] released in 2021. With Jaeshin Park, Jongkuk Kim, Youngwoo Lee, Sangjun Ahn, , and Junho Song.
Deep mind has also released their 2nd studio album [Deepmind II] and is available through all streaming platforms.

Showing another future of Korean jazz with their amazing performances, they present a unique sound based on the outstanding technique of each member.  for the Salon 10 shows, the band will present a stage full of energy that can’t be seen anywhere else. 

Jaeshin Park

Jaeshin is a bassist from Incheon, South Korea, currently recognized as a young musician making waves in both the Jazz and K-pop scenes. His music traverses various genres and styles, reflecting his versatile abilities and creativity. With skillful performances and innovative endeavors, he has garnered high praise within the Korean music industry and enjoys significant popularity among the public. Park Jaeshin leads the Deepmind band and has gained widespread recognition through performances with globally renowned K-pop stars such as RM of BTS, So!yoon, and Paul Kim. Moreover, he participates as a house band in various music broadcasts like "The Voice" and "King of Mask Singer," whose licenses span across the globe, ensuring his music reaches countless audiences. His contributions extend beyond the Korean music scene, earning him recognition on a global scale.

Jongkuk Kim

JK is an award-winning jazz drummer and composer from Incheon, South Korea, has made a significant impact on the global jazz and music scene. Recognized internationally, he stands as a leading figure in contemporary jazz with diverse musical influences. Known for his versatility, Kim collaborates with a wide range of artists, including BTS, RM, Aaron Parks, and Meshell Ndegeocello. Starting his musical journey at a young age, Kim's exceptional talent on the drums led him to Berklee College of Music where he studied under renowned artists like Terri Lyne Carrington and Terrence Blanchard. His performances at prestigious jazz festivals worldwide and collaborations with top musicians have solidified his reputation as a top-tier drummer in the industry. Kim's work with BTS and RM has garnered immense success, including chart-topping albums and performances on platforms like NPR's Tiny Desk. His contributions to RM's "Indigo" album and the hit song "Wild Flower" have showcased his musical prowess and global resonance, establishing him as a standout musician and performer in the music industry.

Sangjun Ahn

Sang Jun is a Korean Guitarist, living in Bucheon, South Korea. During his time in Amsterdam he released 2 album as a leader while earning his bachelor degree in jazz performance. After coming back to South Korea in 2017, he was awarded third prize in the prestigous 2017 Socar Montreux Jazz Electric Guitar Competition. In 2021, he started band called “Deep mind”, and his main trio, “Farm people”, also released a debut album. Sang Jun continues to be active as one of the more promiment jazz guitar players in the Seoul jazz scene.

Junho Song

Since graduating from University of North Texas Junho Song has returned to South Korea and has steadily gained his presence in Korea’s music scene. He has led his own trio, quartet and various projects which also led him to play at the Korean cultural center in Berlin. Beside playing in various Jazz groups he has also been involved in the K pop scene backing up the likes of Bol4, Thama, Sole, George, Jooyoung to name a few. He is currently in the band Deep Mind with his esteemed colleagues Youngwoo Lee, Jaeshin Park, Jk Kim, and Sangjun Ahn. And also has a side duo project with Youngwoo Lee called “R01 Parlour”.

Youngwoo Lee

Pianist Youngwoo Lee was heavily involved in the Dutch Jazz Scene as a sidemen and leader. Such as Sunmi Hong Quintet and Guy Salamon Group to mention a few.
While based in Amsterdam he was also very active in various regions of the European music scene such as England, France, Spain, Italy, Germany and Switzerland etc.
In 2021 Youngwoo Lee Released his debut album called “TIMELINE” which he experimented with elements of electronic music. Currently sitting as the house engineer of the band Deepmind and R01 Parlour he continues to experiment with synthesizers and post production. Recently, He also worked with a well established K pop artist such SoYoon.
