About the artists
Fabiano is a Brazilian-American guitarist, composer, producer and arranger, currently based in Los Angeles and Tokyo. Fabiano performs on various multi-string and multi-tuning (nylon string) guitars.
A contemporary artist who is deeply rooted in Brazilian heritage and is known for his unique sound and compositions that is ever-expansive, borrowing from the traditions of Afro-Samba, Folkloric and Choro while blending elements of Jazz, experimental & electronica.
Kei Matsumaru is a highly acclaimed Tokyo-based Japanese saxophonist, composer, and improviser working across jazz, free improvisation, and experimental music. Raised in Papua New Guinea, he studied at Berklee before returning to Japan in 2018. He leads the Kei Matsumaru Quartet—whose debut Nothing Unspoken Under the Sun was released in 2020—and is a member of SMTK and the electro-acoustic trio mºfe.
Notable projects include performing in Jim O’Rourke’s ensemble for Christian Marclay’s To be continued at MOT in 2021, and collaborating with Shun Ishiwaka on YCAM’s AI-based Echoes for unknown egos in 2022. He has also worked with Eiko Ishibashi and Dos Monos.
